Body - is a one-piece solid steel fabrication. This machine is a bolt circle design. A bolt circle on the outside of the body provides simple and positive seal adjustment. Uniform seal pressure can be accomplished easily from outside the screen changer with a torque wrench.

 Seals - BERNALLOY* metallic seals 1 inch wide for positive seal. Will not cold flow at sealing forces in excess of 1,000,000 pounds. Bernalloy is a special metallic seal material developed by Berlyn to reduce galling, eliminate cold flow, prevent binding from expansion and prolong seal life.

 Breaker Plates - plates are 2 7/8 inches thick, of heat-treated alloy steel. Filter screens are positively captured by a retainer plate or ring. This prevents seal damage from an improperly installed filter screen.

 Slide Plate - high carbon, high chrome steel 3 1/4 inches thick to allow for high-pressure drops without deflecting. Plate is precision ground and lapped to a 4 RMS. Finish. This insures seating of seals and prevents leaks. The plate will be nitrated, and is manufactured flat and parallel to 0.0005".

 Tie Rods are 4 inches diameter and mounting plate is 5 inches thick to properly contain the forces of the large diameter cylinder without deflection.

 Hydraulics - a large diameter-operating cylinder provides the breakaway force necessary for high sealing pressures. Operator control is by push button and solenoid to allow for remote control. Hydraulic power package and all components are rated for 3,000 PSI and pre checked at the factory.

 Heaters are cartridge type - with normal heat-up time in approximately one hour and fifteen minutes from ambient. Slide plate has two heat zones for optimum control. Thermocouples and heaters are pre wired to a terminal box.
