All products are ruggedly built with the latest technology, and screw designs. Extruders are available in sizes from 1" to 15" screw diameters and L/D's from 20:1 to 44:1. Some of the standard features/options include:
Air Cooled barrel: The BERLYN™ high efficiency air cooling system is a low pressure high volume air system that provides soft temperature changes over a wide range. The unique baffling system assures uniform and positive temperature control while insulating the barrel covers from excess heat. The baffles hinge out of the way with the covers to expose the heaters for servicing. Positive shutoffs prevent loss of heat when the extruder is running adiabatically. Water Cooled barrel: Cooling zones are equipped with a closed loop water system consisting of cast aluminum heater / cooler temperature control zones. Stainless steel water tank, centrifugal pump, heat exchanger, inlet / outlet manifold, solenoid valve, flow indicators and check valves at each zone. Both double and single pass water jackets are offered. Vented Barrel: Many processes require vented barrels to allow unwanted gases and impurities to escape prior to passing through the die.
